Bryce Reed, 31, a West (TX) paramedic who responded to last month’s devastating fertilizer plant explosion, was arrested in connection with having materials to make pipe bombs.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office on Friday afternoon said it won’t speculate on whether a pipe bomb allegedly belonging to Reed has any connection with the blast, according to a Dallas Morning News report (http://dallasne.ws/11qLhSI).
Reed told the paper that he assumed radio command of the April 17 incident after the explosion killed his superiors and colleagues.
He is accused of giving bomb-making components to an unnamed person in nearby Abbott on April 26, nine days after the explosion.

The massive explosion in West killed 10 firefighter and a total of 14 people. More than 200 people were injured and dozens of homes were destroyed.
