Arson Control Program
In an effort to develop methods to aid local arson prevention programs, four communities will receive technical assistance in arson management from the United States Fire Administration, in conjunction with the U.S. Conference of Mayors and the International Association of Arson Investigators.
Specific arson programs, such as arson control planning, public awareness, media strategies and community and private sector involvement, will be evaluated according to John W. McConnell, acting director of FEMA.
The pilot cities are East St. Louis, Ill, Dayton, Ohio, Baltimore, Md., and Columbia, S.C.
