ATF Investigating Fire That Killed Dallas Firefighter

Federal agents are now investigating the six-alarm condominium fire in which a Dallas firefighter was trapped and killed, reports CBS Dallas.

Agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) are now on scene at the Hearthwood Condominiums in northeast Dallas to figure out how the May 20th fire began. Agents looking into the fire at the 24-unit condominium complex are part of the same national response team who responded to the fire and explosion at the West Fertilizer Company plant on April 17. The blast there killed 15 people and injured 200 others.

Monday night officials with Dallas Fire Rescue sent a request to ATF officials about looking into the incident further. So far, there is no indication the fire was arson.
