Atrus Inc Adds Four New Locations to Aed Link Services

Developers of the AED Link system, Atrus, Inc., is pleased to announce the addition of four new EMS systems for AED Link. Recently added to the Atrus’ AED Link service include: Norwood, OH; Metro Louisville, KY; Sandy Springs, GA; and Caldwell County, NC. These communities will now have AED Link systems to support 9-1-1 dispatchers, helping them locate lifesaving automated external defibrillators (AED) in closest proximity to sudden cardiac arrest victims.

Additionally, with AED Link, 9-1-1 dispatchers instantly view the location of each registered AED near the scene of sudden cardiac arrest emergencies and instruct witnesses to retrieve one in time to help save a life. AED Link also automatically summons registered and qualified responders affiliated with the AED, requesting the AED be brought on-scene.

“October is Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month, which is an important time to bring awareness to the problem that until now, publicly available AEDs are rarely used in an emergency because people can’t see them or 9-1-1 dispatchers are unaware they are nearby,” stated Elliot Fisch, Atrus President/CEO. “It is widely quoted that survival from cardiac arrest decreases 10% for every minute that goes by. AED Link is proven to decrease response time during a cardiac arrest emergency by assuring that available AEDs are located and used. There are too many stories of people dying in buildings that have AEDs onsite or nearby. AED Link was created to solve that problem.”

AED owners in those communities can register their AEDs at Atrus’ free web-based site: www.nationalaedregistry.com. The no cost registration helps individuals and organizations maintain their AEDs and manage their AED programs. AED Link is a licensed software program that can be integrated with all forms of computer aided dispatch systems and emergency medical dispatch software.

AED Link is installed in 30 EMS systems covering over 350 communities in California, Florida, Minnesota, Indiana, Georgia, Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Ohio, North Carolina, The Cayman Islands and Canada.
