Firefighters Respond to Deadly Bensalem (PA) House Fire

Last week, firefighters responded to a house fire that claimed the lives of two elderly residents in Bensalem Township, Pennsylvania.

At approximately 0031 on August 30, crews for the lower end of Bensalem Township were dispatched for a dwelling fire on King’s Lane in Station 16’s local. Soon after, Captain 16 arrived on scene with heavy fire showing.

Engine 88-1 arrived as the first-in engine company. The crew dropped in and pulled two handlines to the exterior. Crews attempted a push to the interior, but were held to an exterior attack but after it was determined the interior floor was compromised. Engine 88, the chief, and the deputy all responded and provided additional support to the volunteers on scene. All in all, Engine 88-1 had 4 attack lines drawn and a supply line established throughout this incident.

An aged couple was killed in this fire, according to news reports.
