Bronx, NY – On Monday, at the foot of the new One World Trade Center, five Bronx firefighters prepared for a 5,000-mile motorcycle ride to aid 9/11 families.
As part of the Hope for the Warriors charity, which aims to enhance the quality of life for families affected by 9/11, the firefighters embarked on their long journey to places where national tragedies have occurred.
The destinations include Shanksville, Pennsylvania, where hijacked United Airlines Flight 93 crashed on 9/11; the site of the Oklahoma City federal building bombing; Blacksburg, Virginia, the site of the Virginia Tech shootings; and Aurora, Colorado, where gunman James Holmes killed 12 moviegoers at a showing of “Dark Knight Rises,” this past July 20.
The five firefighters will observe a moment of silence at each location.
