Brooklyn (NY) Fire Injures Five, Including Baby Boy

Firefighters battled a fire that engulfed a three-story Brooklyn (NY) apartment building on Thanksgiving Thursday (http://nydn.us/uzRGS2), according to a Daily News report. An eight-month-old boy was rescued and resuscitated at the scene.

The fast-moving fire trapped five people on the third floor–twin sisters, their boyfriends, and the baby–forcing a badly burned man to leap to a second-floor ledge.

By the time firefighters fought back the flames and rescued the others, the baby and one of the boyfriends, who is 35, were in cardiac arrest, authorities said. Both were revived at the scene and hospitalized in critical condition.

All five victims were expected to survive. An FDNY official credited firefighters’ fast response to the fire with the save.
