Info from Bunn (NC) Chief Matt Strawbridge and Assistant Chief Larry Hill

On January 11, 2019, firefighters responded to a significant fire in a warehouse on Highway 98 East in Bunn, North Carolina.

Crews from Bunn, Pilot, and Justice arrived on scene to find heavy fire conditions in a large 200 x 300 metal-constructed warehouse. The structure contained a large quantity of hemp, with bales stacked upon one another. Firefighter was complicated by a roof collapse.

Bunn chiefs Matt Strawbridge and Larry Hill had high praise for all the fire departments who helped fight this fire. They also were thankful for everyone’s safety as the fire became dangerous with the building collapsing in such a short time after arrival.
