California Firefighter Killed in Crash with Suspected Drunk Driver

A veteran Colton (CA) firefighter was killed and his son was injured in a crash with an accused drunk driver, according to a report.

CBS Los Angeles reports that the victim, Dave Lodarski, had just filed papers for retirement a week before he was killed.

The tragedy marks the second time the accused driver has been suspected of driving under the influence, according to the report.

Dave’s son, Hunter, a Colton paramedic, was driving the car with his father when they were struck. Hunter was just recently released from the hospital following the crash.
