Story and photo by Ted Aurig

On December 30, 2010, Camden County (NJ) communications dispatcher Alex Hendry (center) dispatched his last call.

After 35 years on radio, Hendry, who rose to the rank of lieutenant, announced his retirement. Alex began his career on March 10, 1975.

Fire companies from all around Camden County lined the parking to give him a proper send off in the alarm room fashion.

The Camden County fire community wishes Alex the best and thanks him for all his help he provided in the last 35 years on radio.
