Camp Stove Started Colorado Wildfire Say Federal Officials

Hundreds of firefighters are battling a Colorado wildfire that has grown to about 12 square miles. Federal officials say the fire started with a camp stove, reports the Associated Press (

The Colorado wildfire is one of several burning in the West. Wildfires have charred terrain in Arizona, California, NEvada, New Mexico and Utah.

The Associated Press reports that Colorado firefighters have protected neighborhoods by burning grass, shrubs and small brush to prevent the wildfire from advancing toward residences. The crews were aided as wind pushed the wildfire to an area scorched by a previous wildfire, which slowed its growth.
