An out-of-control car slammed into a Chinese restaurant in Brooklyn, triggering a fire and a rescue early Saturday, reports The New York Daily News.
No one was seriously hurt, officials said.
“As soon as the car hit the building, the car went in flames,” said Steve Figueroa, 25, who was parking his car down the street when he saw the fire overtake the New Hardee Chinese Restaurant at the corner of DeKalb and Throop Aves. in Bedford-Stuyvesant around 3:45 a.m.
The driver managed to get out of the doomed white Pontiac sedan following the crash, but his passenger remained inside unconscious, witness Sian Youngerman said.
Two good Samaritans ran up to the smouldering car and managed to pull the victim to safety.
