The fire was reported around 10:30 p.m. in the 2500 block of East Adams Street, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Firefighters responded to the scene and put out the fire, officials said.
The victims, believed to be a couple possibly in their 70s, were inside the home when the fire occurred. Both were taken to a hospital where the woman later died, said Wayne Holston, of Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
