Charlotte (NC) Deputy Chief Retires After Facebook Flap

A Charlotte (NC) deputy chief who posted an image to his private Facebook account that stirred up some controversy retired Friday, according to news accounts.

The Charlotte Observer (http://bit.ly/1zSRQsB) reports that Jeff Dulin, a 32-year department veteran, shared an image on his Facebook page that City Manager Ron Carlee found “highly offensive.” The image reportedly shows former Olympian Bruce Jenner’s in his earlier days alongside a photo of Jenner, who is believed to be transitioning to a woman, as he is today.

Dulin’s retirement comes in the wake of the city saying it fired fire department investigator Crystal Eschert for posting a message on her Facebook page regarding the civil unrest in Ferguson, Missouri.
