CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WCNC) – This week, the entire country will remember the 2,000-plus people who died during the 9/11 attacks.

On Saturday, nearly 800 first responders gathered in uptown Charlotte to honor the first responders who sacrificed their lives to save others at the World Trade Center.

“They gave selflessly they went into the burning buildings and gave their lives just to save a few they could,” said one local first responder.
