Chicago firefighters aid a man perched on the edge of an expressway.

Chicago firefighters came to the aid of a distraught man who was threatening to jump from a bridge over the Kennedy Expressway. Tim Olk captured some photos of the rescue effort.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported that the expressway’s outbound reversible and local lanes were all shut down, as were two inbound lanes.

The man, thought to be in his 50s, was not injured but was taken to an area medical facilty.
