Chicago Firefighter Injured in Residential Fire

A Chicago (IL) Fire Department lieutenant suffered neck and shoulder pain after being struck by debris that fell from the roof during a fire in an apartment on July 18.

The fire, which occurred about 1:25 a.m., was in a 2½-story frame building in the city’s Burnside neighborhood, according to a report from the Chicago Sun-Times (http://bit.ly/12BsmzE).

The injured firefighter was transported to the hospital and was reported to be in good condition. No other injuries were reported.

Arson was suspected; an investigation was underway.
