Chicago Firefighter Killed After Fall on the Fireground

A 39-year-old firefighter died after being injured on the fireground in Chicago, according to the U.S. Fire Administration.

On Monday, November 13, 2023, firefighters with the Chicago (IL) Fire Department responded to a fire in a four-story building. The building houses the Lincoln Station Bar and Restaurant on the ground floor and apartments on the upper floors. Firefighter/EMT Andrew “Drew” B. Price was on the roof opening up holes for ventilation when he fell through a skylight shaft.

A Mayday was called and Firefighter Price was immediately located, however crews needed to breach a wall to reach him. After being rescued, he was immediately rushed to the Illinois Masonic Hospital where he later died from the injuries he sustained in the fall.
