Chuckey (TN) Church a Total Loss After Fire, Collapse



According to a report from WATE, a church in Greene County, Tennessee, has been deemed a total loss after a fire caused it to collapse Tuesday afternoon.

The fire occurred at the Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in the 5900 block of Erwin Highway.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire has under investigation.

Firefighters said they were fighting the fire from the interior but evacuated before the roof collapsed. Multiple fire crews had responded to the scene.

The church, built in 1974, was a place of worship to more than 60 people in the Chuckey community.
