Cleveland Supervisors Disciplined in Shift-Trading Case

Cleveland Fire Chief Patrick Kelley has announced the results of disciplinary actions taken against 17 Cleveland Division of Fire supervisors for their role in a shift-trading abuse case, reports Cleveland Fox 8 (http://bit.ly/1pK6M6K)

The case resulted in 13 firefighters pleading guilty to misdemeanor charges earlier this year. Prosecutors previously said the firefighters paid others to work their shifts.

Charges are pending against an 18th supervisor, according to a release from the city of Cleveland.

Seven supervisors were suspended for one 24-hour shift; five supervisors were suspended for two 24-hour shifts; two supervisors were suspended for one 24-hour shift to be held in abeyance; two supervisors were reprimanded; and one supervisor was suspended for three 24-hour shifts.
