Fallen Clinton (IA) Fire Lieutenant Laid to Rest

Fire photographer Tim Olk recently shared photos from the funeral service for fallen Clinton (IA) Fire Lt. Eric Hosette.

On January 5, 2019, Hosette and Firefighter Adam Cain were injured in a grain bin explosion at the Archer Daniels Midland building . Hosette died from his injuries, but Cain, although critically injured, survived. Cain continues to recover in an area hospital.

According to the Des Moines Register, nearly a thousand people attended the funeral services. Hosette, 33, was fighting the fire “100 plus feet off the ground” when the blast occurred, Clinton City Administrator Matt Brooke told reporters.

Hosette, a third-generation firefighter, leaves behind a wife and daughter.

More photos from the services can be seen at Tim Olk’s site at https://olkee.smugmug.com.
