Columbia Heights (MN) Fire Department

A Columbia Heights (MN) firefighter reportedly fell from the second floor into the basement during a structure fire that left one person dead Sunday evening.

CBSN/WCCO said firefighters responded to the call about 5:16 p.m. on the 700 block of Sullivan Way. One member sustained back injuries after falling through the floor.

According to a report on www.hometownsource.com, Columbia Heights Engine 1 firefighters arrived to find smoke showing from the roof of a three-story, four-unit town home. Firefighters made an interior attack but were repelled when the main floor collapsed into the basement, the report said.
