KOVATCH MOBILE EQUIPMENT CORPORATION (KME) has acquired the complete product line of FIREWOLF INDUSTRIES, INC., based in Lakeland, Florida. KME will offer, in addition to its current product line, FireWolf’s full product line, including specialty, firefighting, and crash rescue vehicle. KME will also administer all future service, including warranty work for that product line. The Lakeland site will serve as a KME manufacturing facility.

LUVERNE FIRE APPARATUS CO., LTD., of Brandon, South Dakota, now can offer its dealers and customers the full line of WATEROUS COMPANY (St. Paul. Minnesota) pumps. The two companies approved the marketing agreement during the IAFC Fire-Rescue International 94 held in St. Louis, Missouri, the end of August.

PIERCE MANUFACTURING, INC. s heavy-duty aerial ladders were selected for the Governor’s New Product Award by the Wisconsin Society of Professional Engineers. The award certificate, signed by Wisconsin’s Governor Tommy Thompson, acknowledges Pierce’s economic contributions to the state through the creation of new products and market opportunities.

RED BRASS, INC. is engaged in a multimillion-dollar modernization and improvement program expected to be completed around the end of the year. The project includes replacing the firm’s remaining conventionally operated metal machining equipment with computerized machines and enlarging the in-house hardcoat department. Red Brass also has added engineering staff to its fire suppression and industrial departments and is installing a Manufacturing Information System that includes an order-entry and tracking system.

The communications systems of six California Specialized Mobile Radio businesses (incorporated as the National Enhanced Digital Access Communications System) partnership are being linked to form a seamless wide-area digital wireless network throughout the Interstate 5 corridor from Los Angeles to San Francisco. The network is comprised of Enhanced Digital Access Communications System equipment manufactured by ERICSSON GE MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS in Lynchburg, Virginia.
