YANKEE COACH INC., which specializes in the custom production of ambulances and emergency vehicle equipment, has been purchased by the American Modular Body Corp. of Smithfield, Rhode Island.
Under American Modular, Yankee Coach will remain in Palmer, Massachusetts, and plans call for the expansion of operations and the hiring of additional staff.
Yankee Coach has been headed for 12? years by Keith Walker, who is continuing^ with the firm and assisting in the transitional process. George Yapchaian of America^ Modular will serve as general manager of the Yankee operation.
American Modular, a fabricator of bodies?, for emergency vehicles and firefighting equipment, was founded in 1975. The company’s other divisions include Ranger Fir Apparatus, Ranger Fire Equipment Co., andAerofire.
