DOUGLAS A. OGILVIE, chairman of the board of Pierce Manufacturing Inc., has retired after 41 years of service. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1948 with a degree in engineering and began working at Pierce as a sales engineer. He became president of the company on the death of Gene Pierce and later chairman of the board. Pierce, based in Appleton, Wisconsin, manufactures and distributes fire apparatus and utility equipment.
Hale Products Inc., manufacturer of firefighting pump products and the Hurst Jaws of Life* line of hydraulic rescue equipment, recently announced the following executive appointments: H. ALFRED EBERHARDT, president and chief executive officer, Hale Products inc.; PETER ANDREWS, chief operating officer, Hale Products Inc.; and JOHN J.
O’GRADY, JR., president, Hale Fire Pump Company.
W.S. DARLEY & COMPANY has named Paul C. Darley vice-president of sales and marketing for the Champion Fire Pump Division. He received his bachelor’s degree in marketing and finance from Marquette University in 1985. With Darley & Company for more than 10 years, he also is currently serving as director for the Fire Equipment Manufacturers & Services Association (FEMSA).
OTTAWA TRUCK CORPORATION, in otta wa, Kansas, and BECK FlRE APPARATUS COMPANY, in Cloverdale, California, have merged. Burwyn B. Bender is president ol Ottawa and Phillip L. Beck will continue as president of Beck Fire Apparatus.
