FIRESOFT® Public Service Computer Software, Inc., has been named to lead the design team to develop the next version of the National Fire Information Reporting System (NFIRS 5). FireSoft will work with the U.S. Fire Administration, the National Fire Information Council, and the Technical Research Education System Planning Associates, Inc., to create a simplified, all-incident reporting system that will meet the needs of federal, state, and local governments.

CERBERUS PYROTECHNICS of New jersey has received U.S. Coast Guard approval for its MXI. early-warning life safety fire system, providing the company with exclusive analog fire detection service certification for marine applications in the United States. The MXI. is an integrated fire safety system offering dynamic supervision, including calibration reading, voltages, device type, and pinpoint location, of all devices. Vanner Inc., manufacturer of electronic power conversion and control products, and its sister company, Weldon Inc., manufacturer of warning lights for emergency vehicles and school buses, have merged to form a new company, VANNER WELDON INC. of Hilliard, Ohio. For the past five years, the companies had been working closely with one another to develop and produce new products.

ANSUL FIRE PROTECTION of Marinette, Wisconsin, signed an agreement last year to purchase the operating assets of ROCKWOOD SYSTEMS CORPORATION of Lancaster, Texas, allowing Ansul to expand its line of foam systems and agents to include a line of foam fire protection equipment that features high-expansion foam products and marine brass hardware. In addition, Ansul has acquired Rockwell’s U.S. Coast Guard approvals for various devices.
