Firefighters with D.C. Fire & EMS rescued a number of people during a fire yesterday at a multi-story apartment building.
The fire occurred around noon Tuesday at St. Mary’s Court, a senior citizen retirement home in the 700 block 24th St. NW, and went to two alarms. Crews contended with heavy smoke on all floors of the eight-story building, and rescued numerous occupants by ladders.
According to a report from NBC Washington, several patients were treated for smoke inhalation and are expected to be all right.
