Dallas (TX) Firefighter Killed in Fall from Bridge

A Dallas (TX) firefighter died in the line of duty after falling off a bridge overpass.

William Scott Tanksley, 40, was pronounced dead at a Dallas hospital after falling from atop the Spur 408 bridge onto Interstate-20 below. The Dallas firefighter was working a crash on the icy overpass at the time, according to a CBS report.

Tanksley worked out of Dallas Fire Station 12 located on Westmoreland Road in far Southwest Dallas. He was a 14-year veteran of the department who leaves behind a wife and three children.

Right now it is unclear if the firefighter slipped on the icy road or was forced off the overpass by a vehicle.
