Three people people died when a medical helicopter crashed en route to pick up a patient this morning in Tennessee.
The victims were registered nurse and a respiratory therapist from the Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis and the helicopter pilot, according to CNN (http://bit.ly/1a5eOVl).
The helicopter crashed around 6:20 a.m. near Somerville, about halfway between Memphis and the crew’s destination of Bolivar. The crew had planned to pick up a boy who was in renal failure for treatment.
The crew members’ names weren’t immediately released, and officials said they didn’t have information about what led to the crash.
