Death benefit program coverage extended

The $50,000 Public Safety Officers’ Benefits (PSOB) program, previously payable only to survivors of firefighters and law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty, has been extended to cover emergency medical services and rescue personnel. The expanded coverage became effective on October 1 of last year.
