Dedication of statue of Lt. Andrew A Fredericks

The Rockland County Fire Instructors Assoc and the Rockland County Fire Training Center would like to invite you to attend the Dedication Ceremony of the statue in honor of Lt. Andrew A. Fredericks.

Andy was a Rockland County Fire Instructor, a member of FDNY Squad 18 who died on September 11, 2001 at the World Trade Center. Andy was also a nationally recognized and gifted instructor and author who made a tremendous impact in the fire service. As Andy’s dear friend Mark Wesseldine, FDNY (ret.), said, “Andy did not preach New York City, he preached what worked.”

There is no doubt that through his teaching, Andy saved many firefighter and civilian lives and continues to do so. Andy has countless disciples, a number of whom continue to carry his message forward.
Most importantly, Andy was a kind and humorous man, a friend to many, and a devoted husband and father who is deeply missed by all.

For the last 5 years Fire Nuggets has been hosting the “Lt. Andy Fredericks Memorial Golf Tournament”. With the money raised at these events they have commissioned a bronze life-size statue of Andy. They have now donated it to the Rockland County Fire Training Center in Andy’s memory.
