Detroit Firefighter Recovering After Fall

A Detroit firefighter is stable after falling from an aerial bucket Wednesday morning during firefighting operations at the Fisher Body Plant, according to news reports.

Detroit Firefighter Injured in Fall on the Fireground

The injured firefighter was identified as Nicholas Benskey of Ladder 7, according to ClickonDetroit.com (http://bit.ly/1CVoD1i). He was initially knocked unconscious by the fall, according to the report.

Benskey, a married father of four, has been with the department for 10 years.

Sources said the firefighter was trying to avoid a wall collapse. The firefighter may have fallen up to 40 feet.
