A judge sustained manslaughter charges against three construction company figures in the Deutsche Bank fire, which killed two firefighters at a contaminated ground zero tower, according to a CBS news report. The ruling means that the case against Mitchel Alvo, Salvatore DePaola and Jeffrey Melofchik will go to trial in the case.
Prosecutors say the trio knew about and covered up a break in a crucial firefighting water pipe, and that was a factor in the deaths of FDNY firefighters Robert Beddia and Joseph Graffagninoin the August 2007 incident.
