Feltonville (PA) – A 66-year-old man who uses a wheelchair could not escape the flames from an overnight house fire in Philadelphia.

The fire broke out just before 4:00 a.m. Tuesday on the 100 block of East Eleanor Street in the city’s Feltonville section.

Authorities believe the blaze was sparked by a space heater in the home. There were also no smoke detectors.

The wife of the victim actually heard his screams, and that was after the fire had already caught on throughout the home.
