Dramatic Bodycam Footage Emerges from AL Apartment Complex Response

According to a report from AuburnPub.com, dramatic bodycam footage from a violent apartment complex fire at the Shadow Ridge Apartments in Citronelle City, Alabama, has been released.

The Citronelle Fire and Rescue Department (CFRD) responded to the fire just before midnight on July 11.

CFRD crews began putting water on the flames coming off the roof of the fourplex, with one member entering the building to extinguish from the interior. That responder can be heard breathing heavily as he entered the apartment.

Sparks and embers fell from the walls as other CFRD members entered to hose down the flames.

In a statement, CFRD Chief John Simison said the structure is a total loss from fire and water damage. Three residents were also displaced.

Firefighters remained on scene well into the morning to ensure full extinguishment. Mobile County EMS transported one patient to a local hospital with breathing difficulties, but who is expected to fully recover.

The CFRD received mutual aid from the Georgetown-Fellowship Volunteer Fire Department, Oak Grove Volunteer Fire-Rescue, and Turnerville Fire Department.

The Alabama State Fire Marshal is now investigating the cause of the incident.
