Drawn by Fire: Resolution Solution

Firefighters talking about conflict resolution

People are complicated creatures and there’s nothing easy about managing relationships—it takes work! Whether it’s with a significant other, friends, colleagues, or strangers, you have to practice the skills of conflict resolution to be able to control your own emotions. There’s an endless amount of information on how to best resolve issues, and you will inevitably need to find the one that resonates with you, but here’s a running start…

Stop the verbal, emotional, or physical abuse now! The further you travel down this path, the longer the road back.

Listen to what the other side (or both sides if you’re the neutral party) and try to understand where the hostility or frustration is coming from. Drop your ego—you just might be wrong!

Accept that the there are things that you can and cannot change. Sometimes the solution is to accept that you can’t solve the issue and you either need to respect your differences or move on.

Resolve the issue peacefully and respectfully as possible. Nothing is gained by verbal, emotional, or physical abuse—nothing!

STAY FIRED UP, and remember, there’s no easy app to dealing with conflicts.
