Eighteen residents have been displaced from six condo units after a two-alarm apartment fire in Greenbelt, reports wusa9.com.
The fire occurred in the 8400 block of Greenbelt Road around 5 a.m., fire officials said.
An 87-year-old man was transported to the hospital after suffering from smoke inhalation. Fire officials say he is in stable condition.
Firefighters said hoarding conditions made it difficult for firefighters.
For the second time this week, firefighters in our area have had to deal with hoarding conditions while putting out a fire.
When Prince George’s County firefighters got to the Chelsea Wood Condominium around 5 a.m. they saw smoke billowing from the three story building. They had trouble fighting the fire because of storage items packed from floor to ceiling.
