According to a report from NBC3, an electric vehicle fire caused delays and backups on the 215 Beltway near Las Vegas, Nevada, on Monday afternoon.
Nevada State Police officials said the car erupted in the eastbound-lanes, east of Rainbow, before the exit to Jones.
Two travel lanes were opened while crews responded to the scene. Fire officials said the driver got out of the car safely before it erupted in flames.
The cause of the fire is still unknown. Because the car was electric, fire crews said it could take additional time to fully extinguish the flames.
