EMS Provider Ambulance Design Survey

By Mike McEvoy

The National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) opened an online survey for EMTs and paramedics who provide patient care in the back of ambulances. As safety engineers work to design restraint systems to protect EMS providers in the event of a crash, input from street providers is critical to achieve a balance between safety and ability to provide patient care. The survey will be open until December 28, 2011 and can be accessed at https://www.rkb.us/contentdetail.cfm?content_id=272493.
