Escondido (CA) Firefighters Find Woman’s Body After Extinguishing House Fire

Firefighters found a woman’s body inside a burning home Monday afternoon in Escondido, authorities said.

The blaze was reported at 12:45 p.m. at a home off Valley Center Road a little north of Lake Wohlford Road, adjacent to the Daley Ranch conservation area, according to Escondido police Lt. Bode Berreth.

Firefighters discovered the body after extinguishing the flames, Berreth said in a news release. Police did not release the victim’s name.

The cause of the fire was under investigation, and Berreth said the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office is investigating the woman’s cause of death.

No other details were immediately available.
