Fallen Boston Firefighter Michael Kennedy Laid to Rest

Fallen Boston (MA) Firefighter Michael Kennedy was laid to rest today in West Roxbury.

Kennedy was killed along with Lt. Edward Walsh in a raging fire in Boston last week. The funeral for Lt. Walsh was held yesterday in Watertown.

Authorities Search for Cause of Fatal Boston Fire

Kennedy, a Boston native and Marine Corps combat veteran who saw action in Iraq, had been a firefighter for six years. He was a CrossFit trainer in his spare time, a motorcycle enthusiast, and was planning to run the Boston Marathon along with several of his fellow firefighters. He was also reportedly fond of cooking and a mentor to youngsters as part of the Big Brother association.
