Two Children Killed in Wilmington (DE) Structure Fire

Firefighters were forced to bail out of a Wilmington (DE) residential fire that claimed the lives of two young girls.

The girls’ mother was critically injured in the Tuesday afternoon fire, according to a report from WPVI-TV.

Witnesses say that, despite her injuries, the mother tried to go back into her burning home.

“The house was like any home with nine people living in there, a lot of materials in there, and the fire travelled quickly,” Wilmington Fire Chief Anthony Goode said.

At around the 1.57 mark in the above video, a firefighter performs a head-first bailout from a window during the fire.
