Two people were killed after a massive five-alarm fire burned through a residence in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, New York.

The fire at the three-story building on Richardson Street was reported just after 1:30 a.m. on Monday, December 28. Flames could be seen shooting from the upper floor windows and the fire quickly spread to an adjoining tenement in the rear.

At least 10 people have been displaced, and firefighters with the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) remained on the scene throughout the day putting out pockets of fire. At least two hundred FDNY firefighters responded to the incident, with one reported minor injury.
