Fire Burns at Channelview (TX) Chemical Facility

Firefighters responded to a fire Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at a chemical facility in Channelview, Texas.

The fire was reported at around 4 p.m. at chemical distribution company K-Solv in the 1000 block of Lakeside Drive, according to the Houston Chronicle.

The fire prompted a shelter in place order that was later lifted, according to KTRK. One person reportedly sought medical treatment for respiratory issues, but there were no other reported injuries.

According to the fire marshal’s office, known chemicals on site include, but are not limited to, hydrochloric acid, acetone, ethanol, ethylene dichloride, and other acids, the report noted.
