Fire Causes Nearly $1 Million in Damage to Historic Wichita Building

The Wichita Fire Department says a fire caused at least a million dollars in damage at a historic building, reports KWCH 12.

A Fire Marshal said investigators are still trying to figure out what caused the fire inside the Occidental Hotel building.

Wichita Fire Chief Tammy Snow said the building was under renovation when the fire broke out. Painters workers on the exterior of the building noticed smoke and called 911.
