New Fire Chief Joins Longview (WA) Fire Department

Sep. 30—Brad Hannig, former deputy director of the Utah Communications Authority in Salt Lake City, took over as fire chief of the Longview Fire Department Monday, the city announced in a press release.

His official pinning takes place Thursday at Station 81 and his formal swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for the Oct. 10 City Council meeting.

Hannig has 31 years of fire service experience, including 21 years in leadership positions, according to the press release. Prior to his position at the Utah Communications Agency, he served as the fire chief of the Logan City Fire Department in Utah for six years. He was also a former battalion chief in Las Vegas

He has a bachelor’s degree in fire administration from Columbia Southern University in Alabama and is pursuing a master’s degree in occupational safety and health.
