Fire Marshals’ School

Fire Marshals’ School

The New York Fire Department and John Jay College of Criminal Justice has joined to set up “what we believe to be the most comprehensive school in the nation for training fire marshals, because the war on arson demands it,” Commissioner Charles J. Hynes has recently announced.

He said that more than 40 judges, prosecutors, defense lawyers and forensic experts have volunteered to serve as faculty members of what will be called the ‘Victor Collymore Institute of Fire Investigation’ at John Jay College. The three-credit, 45-hour, fiveweek course will be given at John Jay College’s Manhattan campus, three hours a night, three times a week.
