Fire service research institute established in Washington, D.C.

The formation of the Congressional Fire Services Institute, a non-profit research and information organization, has been announced.

The institute is an outgrowth of the Congressional Fire Services Caucus, which was founded by Congressman Curt Weldon. Like the Hispanic Caucus and the Northeast-Midwest Coalition, the Fire Services Caucus will now be supported by an institute that conducts research and keeps members informed on issues.

A dinner marking the institute’s formation will be held in Washington, D. C. on April 12; there’s room for 3,000 at the dinner (see Coming Events for details).

The Caucus, which has 280 members, wants to improve its mailing list. The Caucus needs the names, addresses, titles, and phone numbers of all the fire service organizations within the 50 states. That information can be sent to John McNichol, Staff Director, Congressional Fire Services Caucus, 1233 Longworth House Office Building, Washington, D. C. 20515.
