Fire Strikes PA Strip Mall; One Person Dead

One person died and two firefighters were injured at a fire in a shopping mall last night in Cheltenham, Pennsylvania.

The local ABC affiliate reported (http://bit.ly/W8ac85) that the fire broke out just after 11:00 p.m. on Thursday night. Firefighters arrived to find heavy flames and smoke showing from a number of businesses in the center.

Two stores were gutted by the fire, while others suffered serious damage. One person was pulled from the fire and succumbed to his injuries later at a hospital. One firefighter suffered lacerations and was treated at ae hospital and released. Another firefighter suffered  a shoulder injury and is in stable condition at an area hospital.

Officials believes chemicals in the store where the fire originated, a beauty supply store, may have fueled the flames.
