Fire Traps Canadian Workers in Mine

A fire broke out at a potash mine in Saskatchewan today, trapping 20 miners in an underground refuge area.

CBC News reports (http://bit.ly/PkuDti) that miners can communicate with the outside and are not in immediate danger, and no one has been injured so far.

Nine people were removed from the mine when the fire initially broke out.

A mine rescue team is trying to extinguish the fire. No word on when the miners will be able to escape.
